One of the things I’ve been trying to do amidst the COVID-19 pandemic is to think about the things that I’m grateful for. When things are going badly, like they are now, it’s not always easy to be grateful. It takes some effort.

It’s a Great Time To…

One exercise I did the other day was to try to complete the following sentence with as many things I could think of: “It’s a great time to…”

For example: It’s a great time to… get in shape.

It’s a great time to… slow down.

It’s a great time to… learn a new skill.

It’s a great time to… save money.

It’s a great time to… play a board game.

It’s a great time to… read a book.

It’s a great time to… cook a new recipe.

It’s a great time to… connect with friends and family over Facetime.

It’s a great time to… have family dinners.

It’s a great time to… make a garden.

It’s a great time to… take an online class.

Try It Yourself

Go ahead and try to do the exercise yourself. Try to complete the sentence in 10 different ways. It might help lift your spirits and redirect your energy in this challenging time.
